Sunken Temple of Qarn is a lvl 35 Dungeon that is optional. It is not a dungeon for the weak or unskilled. Your tank needs to be good, your healer needs to be amazing, and your DPS need to know their role and to switch targets. Each boss here has a gimmick that needs to be adhered to your you will lose. Here is also a video from SheepHead: GENERAL TIPS:- Kill Bees. Always kill Bees. Bees have a targeted ability called Final Sting and it DOES NOT show a red target. It will OHKO (one hit ko) you or whoever it is targeting. Kill them first.
- Remember the symbols: Flame, Fruit, Helm, Gem.
- Stone heads NEED to be killed on top of a square. Tanks need to grab them and position them on a square otherwise they will revive. The face of Qarn that will appear in some fights will run away if you don't kill them. If you DO kill them, then they will drop a chest. Focus them down if they appear for more loot/money!
- Crocs are dangeous. Melee DPS need to be really careful of their attacks (I got hit for 1.3k on a very fast tail swipe).
- Look for stone pedestals after the second boss. Match the symbol to the stone and you will get free money/loot!
- After the first boss, there will be a single stone head, and then 2 stone heads past it. Kill the 2 stone heads, on top of the respective squares OUTSIDE of the door that the first stone head will unlock. This gives loot/money.
BOSS 1 (Terotaur):- Fight type: Add control and Self awareness
- Boss is pretty simple, avoid some attacks and do your job and you will be fine. Doing your job is the hard part, not the boss...
- Zoom your camera out, make sure to know where the glowing square is, and make sure to keep your finger on sprint if you need to...
- Phase 1: BEES. Bees will spawn. Kill bees. Declare a main DPS and have the other dps /assist that dps. An easy macro to make is to /assist <f>, and have your main dps be the focus target. REMEMBER Bees will OHKO. Kill them fast or interrupt them if need be.
- Phase 2: DOOM! Boss will "SHOUT" and everyone will get Doom. It's an 11 second debuff. If it ticks to 0, you are dead. As soon as he begins to cast, run to a glowing square. If you are on a glowing square it will remove the debuff. Glowing squares move, so as you are running the glowing square may shift. Make sure to have sprint ready if you need to (takes about 5-6 seconds to go from the the 2 further squares to each other). Bees will still spawn. Priority is DOOM > BEES > DPS.
BOSS 2 (Temple Guardian):- Fight type: Tank and Spank
- There are 2 monsters to this fight. One is a soulstone and the other is the main boss. You cannot really dmg the boss without killing the soulstone, so DPS must focus the soulstone first. If the boss is moving that means the soulstone is up. Once the soulstone is shattered the boss will be stunned, so focus him down then.
- Soulstone will regenerate, so once it is up, focus it down.
- While moving, the golem will cast some very high damaging attacks. Rock slide and crush do about 800-900 dmg a piece. He will also randomly target someone to punch for a good amount of damage, so healers will need to ensure the party is topped off and EVERYBODY needs to avoid the big red squares/circles.
BOSS 3 (Adjuticator):Yeah I remember this boss's name. Go me! - Fight type: Add control, positioning, constant movement.
- Laser beams, almost one hit KOs, knowing when to move... Avoid EVERYTHING.
- DO NOT ENTER A BLACK ZONE AS A HEALER OR TANK. LET DPS DO THAT. BLACK ZONES ARE DESCRIBED in PHASE 3
- After phase 1, tank Adjuticator near the center of the room as much as possible
- Adjuticator himself has a few abilities that are pretty damaging, he has an AOE that will hit the party for about 250 dmg, and can't be avoided. Stacked with all the other things in the room, this fight is pretty tough for the healer.
- This fight is a marathon, not a race. Take your time, focus adds always, and then let dots and other damage take down the boss. DPS the boss only if no adds are up.
- Phase 1: Sun Jurors (stone heads) will spawn. Take them to a square. After 2-3 of them spawn, phase 2 will begin. They will continue spawning until you kill at least 2 of them on a square. IF healer or DPS gets aggro on them, just tank them on a square, they do little damage. Make sure to stun them to lock them in place to kill them on the square.
- Phase 2: LASER BEAMS. Mythril Verge Staves will begin spawning. They look like an eye of Horus stuck in the ground. They will target someone and a blue line from it to the target will appear. Move out of the blue line. In about 3 seconds, a 500 dmg laser beam will shoot and hit everyone in the blue line. Don't get hit. Stack 500 dmg with Adjuticator's AOE, and the party's health can start getting very scary.
- Phase 3: Black zones of doom. A black zone with a staff in the middle will appear in one of the 4 corners of the room. DPS will need to jump in to it IMMEDIATELY. And dps it down. What will happen is that once a DPS enters the zone, the zone will close itself off. Nothing inside the zone can be targeted from the outside. The staff in the middle will begin casting an 600 damage AOE that hits the entire party. DPS need to kill it ASAP. I was able to clear this in a single rotation, but if your group is having trouble with it, then DPS need to both jump into a zone and do it quickly, or the tank and jump in as well to help out, but if 2 people need to enter, then they need to enter at the same time.
- Phase 4: Phase 3 will alternate with this phase. This phase is essentially Phase 2, but 4-5 staves will spawn at the same time. This means rail guns in a cross cross pattern all over the room. Yeah. DPS the staves asap or die. Be very careful as physical DPS, attempting to cast a limit break or use JUMP as a dragoon can get you caught in these lasers.
